On Thursday 5th April, the FPG will have the pleasure of a presentation by Julie England. The subject of Julie’s presentation is Underwater Photography.
Married to farmer David and with a grown up family, Julie was until her retirement a teacher in Adult Education. She became a member of Lytham St Annes Photographic Society a couple of years before she retired. (The LSAPS was formed 1948 and has over 130 members.)
Julie began scuba diving about 15 years ago and is now a well qualified diver with
over 700 logged dives. Excited and fascinated by the wonders of the world under
the sea, she wanted to identify what she was seeing, which instigated an interest
in photography. This led her to joining the LSAPS, where her fishy photos soon found
success in Inter club comps etc.
Around 10 years ago Julie became interested in audio visual work and her sequences have won a dozen or so medals internationally. In recent years she has become a less competitive and now just enjoys her photography. Examples of Julie’s work can be found at www.lsaps.org.uk/gallery
Julie’s presentation will take place at the Formby Christian Fellowship Hall (corner
of Church Road and Old Mill Lane) and will commence at 8pm. Non-
